DNA Lysis reagents

A novel reagent formulated to be used as a pre-step to PCR in circumstances when purification of the DNA is not necessary. It effectively and reliably lyses cells, including blood cells, buccal cells, fibroblasts, yeast, insects, protozoa, plants, virus and all types of bacteria tested to date. MicroLYSIS is a very powerful tool for rapid screening of samples, both small and large.
MicroLYSIS allows you to go directly from cells to PCR in minutes, the special formulation combined with the rapid heating and cooling of a thermal cycler effectively lyses your samples. Part or all of the spinning steps providing no PCR inhibitos are carried over from the cells or the cell suspension. Protocols usually involve only a single pipetting step followed by thermal cycling. The risk of contamination or sample switching is significantly reduced.

Microlysis-PLUS is a modified microLYSIS designed to lyse tough tissues such as plant and some animal tissues.

MegaMix-Royal used for multiplex or difficult PCRs. MegaMix-Royal is a double concentrated Hot-Start mix with optimised Taq and anti-taq polymerase monoclonal antibodies in buffer containing dNTPs, MgCl2, blue agarose gel loading dye and stabiliser. The mix only becomes active when the temperature has reached 90°C and the primers will not bind with themselves to make primer-dimer or form an unspecific bond to incorrect DNA sequence as the temperature ramps upwards. This makes the PCR highly specific and efficient since unwanted products are not made.
