Horizontal Gel System

Optimised for running Protein and DNA Electrophoresis in thin polyacrylamide gels cast on a support film. Gels up to 25 x 25cm may be run on this unit or more normally 12.5 x 25cm. All protein techniques can be run, IEF, SDS and Native separations as well as DNA techniques such as SSCP. The highly efficient cooling platen offers excellent control of temperature when hooked up to a suitable circulator. The cooling plate is constructed on aluminum and no buffer tanks are required. Buffer consumption is minimised as a unique wick based system is employed for all electrophoretic techniques.
The unit is supplied with two electrodes although a third electrode may be added offering a doubling of sample throughput for DNA electrophoresis or Isoelectric focusing.

Product consists of: 1 basic unit including cooling plate, 1 safety lid with 2 platinum electrodes, 2 pairs of connecting cables for power supplier (3-->1mm connectors and 3-->3mm connectors) 3m cooling tubing complete with 2x3 way valves, 1 manual.
