Precast Horizontal Gels
Web Scientific offer a range of thin-layer flatbed acrylamide gels for use on cooled horizontal systems such as our FlatTop or the MultiPhor / MultiPhor II from GE Healthcare. These gels need less buffer, create less mess and take more samples than a conventional vertical set up. All gels measure 125 x 250mm and come with precut slots for sample application. Custom gels with no slots can be supplied on request.
Applications:
Focus Gels for IEF - we offer several pH gradients for use in Isoelectric Focusing including gels for analysis of CSF, Haemoglbinopathies, and Alpha1-AntiTrypsin deficiencies. These gels are supplied ready-to-use and do not require the use of any extra buffers or buffer wicks. All gels are non-toxic. Note - Clean Gel IEF gels must be rehydrated in a suitable amopholyte mix prior to use.
SDS Gel Kits - the SDS Gel Kit range consists of thin layer horizontal gels, buffers and electrode wicks. All gels are ready to use.. Each kit consists of 5 gels, required buffers and electrode strips.
Clean Gels - are polyacrylamide gels that have been washed to remove all excess monomers and catalysts and then dried. This process ensures a highly stable and long shelf life media. To use, the gel is reswollen using the appropriate Buffer Kit dependent on the desired application.
Accessories - a range of accessories such as enhancers, buffers, electrode strips and application nets for use with all of the above gels and kits.
