Web Scientific was founded in 1997 with the aim of supplying a complete range of electrophoresis spares and accessories into the Life Sciences market. The business model was simple – to supply quality products direct to the customer at competitive prices. In 2005, Web Scientific was bought by Thistle Scientific Ltd., a well recognised UK supplier of both general and more specialised Life Science products. Today, Web Scientific operates as a division of Thistle Scientific, but with a more diverse product portfolio which reflects our deeper penetration into the markets in which we operate. We still specialise in the supply of Electrophoresis spares and accessories and with the addition of a variety of running systems to our range, we believe our complete Electrophoresis product offering to be one of the most diverse you’ll find anywhere.
As founder of Thistle Scientific, Galen brings a wealth of experience in sales and business development and oversee the operational side of Web Scientific.
With over 10 years experience in office management, Anne is responsible for the day to day functioning of the Web office as well as handling the majority of our general enquiries.
Our offices and warehouse facilities are based close to Crewe, Cheshire in the UK. This location provides the good road and rail links that ensure we are well served by most carriers and enables a consistent and efficient dispatch of orders received. Manchester International Airport is only 45 minutes by road which also means our contact with overseas suppliers and customers is well maintained.
Web Scientific is ISO9001:2008 certified and as such is commited to the highest possible standards at all times. This commitment extends from the quality of products that we supply right through to our after sales service on a customer care and technical support level. If at any time you are not happy with any aspect of our product or service offering, please let us know and we will do our best to put things right.
Employment: Web Scientific is an equal opportunities employer.
Green: waste management and the environment are intrinsically linked not only in public and political perception, but in reality. Since our industry is one in which actions can have direct and serious consequences, Web Scientific aims to minimise any detrimental impact its activities may have on the environment.
Electrical and electronic waste, for instance, is the fastest growing waste stream in the UK. Around 1.8 million tonnes are generated every year. The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations aim to reduce the amount of this waste going to landfill and improve recovery and recycling rates. Web Scientific is recognised as a WEEE approved company.
